Quiet quitting or actual burnout? My team feels hollowed out.

Been with Tesla for a few years now, and things feel... different. It's not just the news about layoffs, though that's obviously a constant hum in the background. It's the day-to-day. People seem less engaged, projects are dragging, and there's this underlying anxiety that's palpable. I've noticed a lot more people just doing the bare minimum, which I get – who wants to go above and beyond when you might be next out the door? But it's creating this really toxic atmosphere where the few people still trying to push things forward feel like they're shouting into the void. Are others experiencing this? Is it just my department, or is this a wider thing at Tesla right now? Feels like we're losing the spark that made this place exciting.

I've heard similar things from friends at other tech giants, so maybe it's a broader industry trend? The constant threat of layoffs can definitely drain enthusiasm. That sounds incredibly draining. It's understandable that people would pull back when job security feels shaky. The focus shifts from passion projects to just getting through the day.
