Severance Package Question - Trying to Plan Ahead

Hey all, I've been at Tesla for a little over 2 years, and with all the talk of potential cutbacks, I'm trying to be proactive and understand what I might be entitled to if the worst happens. Does anyone have experience with Tesla's severance packages? What factors influence the amount offered? Is it based on tenure, performance, or something else entirely? Also, what about stock options - are those usually vested upon termination, or do you lose them? Any insights would be super helpful in planning my next steps. Thanks!

I heard from a friend laid off last year that severance was pretty standard - 2 weeks per year of service, plus any accrued PTO payout. Stock options were a mixed bag; some got accelerated vesting, some didn't. It seemed pretty arbitrary. I'd definitely start updating your resume and networking now, just in case. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!

Honestly, don't count on anything generous. They're known for being tight-fisted. Your best bet is to immediately file for unemployment and explore your legal options regarding wrongful termination if you think it applies. Document everything now - performance reviews, emails, anything that could support your case later. Don't expect them to play fair.
