Rant

Tesla's culture is toxic and needs to change.

I'm ranting here because I'm so fed up. I've been at Tesla for 2 years now and the work environment is honestly draining. Constant pressure, unrealistic deadlines, and a management style that borders on abusive. My manager expects us to work nights and weekends as a matter of course, and there's zero recognition for the extra effort. Skip-level is always breathing down our necks. The 'move fast and break things' mentality has morphed into 'move fast and burn out your employees'. I'm actively looking for a new job, but it sucks that I have to leave a company that I initially admired so much. They need to seriously address the culture problem before they lose all their talent. Is anyone else feeling this way?

I hear you. A friend of mine worked there for a similar amount of time and had a comparable experience. He said the pressure was immense, and any attempt to push back was met with hostility. He ended up leaving for a smaller company with better work-life balance and hasn't looked back. Sometimes the prestige isn't worth the personal cost.

Two years is a decent run. Every company has its issues, but if it's affecting your mental health, it's time to prioritize yourself. Maybe look into companies known for better work-life balance? A change of scenery might be exactly what you need. Don't let them burn you out. Start interviewing now!
