I'm not surprised to hear this. I'm over in the analog group, and we've definitely felt the squeeze. Budgets are tight, and approval processes have become a nightmare. It's always hard to say if it's just a temporary blip or something more serious, but I'd recommend dusting off that resume just in case. Always good to be prepared, even if it's just to get a sense of your market value. Good luck!
Honestly, I think people are overreacting. Every semiconductor company is facing headwinds right now. MSP430 might be feeling it more acutely, but that's probably just market specific. They've weathered worse before. TI is a huge company with deep pockets. The sky isn't falling. Just keep your head down, do your job, and try not to get caught up in the rumors. These cycles come and go.
