July 17th impact: Anyone else get the invite?

Confirmed: my badge stopped working this morning. It’s a surreal feeling sitting in your car in the Lewisville parking lot realizing you don’t have a desk to go to anymore. I was one of the 155 listed in the WARN notice for the July 17th date. HR sent the email packet about an hour ago, but it’s all standard corporate boilerplate. No mention of the specific 'why,' just the usual 'strategic alignment' nonsense. I worked on a legacy product line that everyone knew was winding down, but we were told we had another eighteen months of support. Guess that changed overnight. If anyone else is in the same boat, start looking at the internal portal ASAP to download your non-proprietary performance reviews and training certifications before they lock your SSO credentials for good. It’s a clean break, no counter-offer, just the severance package. Taking a week to clear my head before I start the grind on LinkedIn. Good luck to those still inside—keep your head down and your document backups secure.

I am so sorry to hear you're going through this. Sitting in that parking lot must feel incredibly heavy. Those corporate emails are always the worst—using empty phrases like 'strategic alignment' to mask the fact that real people are losing their livelihoods. It’s infuriating how they treat long-term contributors like disposable assets. Please take some time for yourself today, and don't feel like you need to process everything at once. You have a lot of expertise, and this transition, while painful, doesn't define your future career path.

Look, it sucks, but anyone who has been at TI for a while knows the writing has been on the wall for the older product lines. They aren't going to give you a genuine reason because it's always just about moving capital toward the newer fabs. Stop looking for closure from HR; they are just following a legal checklist to cover the company's liability. File for your benefits, grab your severance, and stop looking in the rearview mirror. This industry is ruthless, so just make sure you land on your feet and move on quickly.
