Well, it finally happened. Got the call this morning. Part of the Digital Signal Processing team. 6 years down the drain. They said it was a 'restructuring' and my position was 'no longer needed'. Seriously? After all the late nights, all the weekends I sacrificed? I busted my butt for this company. The VP gave some canned speech about 'difficult decisions' and 'future growth'. It all felt so hollow. I'm just angry and disappointed. Time to dust off the resume, I guess. Anyone else get hit today?

That sucks, man. Really sorry to hear that. Six years is a long time to invest in a company. 'Restructuring' is corporate speak for 'we want to cut costs'. Don't take it personally, even though it feels incredibly personal. Take some time to decompress, then hit LinkedIn hard. There's a lot of demand for DSP engineers right now. You'll bounce back.

Heard whispers about this happening. TI has been looking at trimming fat for a while. Honestly, loyalty is a one-way street with these big corporations. They'll always prioritize the bottom line. Use the severance package wisely and don't rush into the first offer you get. Negotiate hard for your next role; you've got leverage with that TI experience.
