Recruiter ghosted me after final round - normal or bad sign?

Applied for a senior firmware engineer role in the embedded processing group a few weeks ago. Went through three rounds, the last one was with the hiring manager and seemed to go really well. They said they'd be in touch within a week to discuss next steps. That was two weeks ago. Emailed the recruiter twice and haven't heard back. Is this just a sign of the times, maybe things are slowing down internally and they're being cautious? Or is this a classic 'we went with someone else' scenario? Usually, even with a rejection, you get a courtesy email. Feeling a bit deflated, especially with all the layoff talk. Did anyone else experience this recently with TI recruiting? Trying to figure out if I should keep following up or just move on.

That's incredibly frustrating, especially after getting to the final round and feeling good about it. TI can be notoriously slow with their hiring process, even when things are going smoothly. Sometimes there are internal approvals or budget shifts that can cause delays beyond the recruiter's control. Don't give up hope just yet, but it's definitely worth continuing to follow up politely. Maybe try calling the recruiter's direct line if you have it. It's a tough waiting game, for sure.

Honestly, that sounds like a bad sign. When they say they'll be in touch within a week and then go silent for two weeks after a final round? That's usually code for 'we found someone else' or the role was put on hold. Recruiters are supposed to communicate, even if it's bad news. The fact that they're ghosting you, especially after multiple follow-ups, suggests they're either disorganized or just don't respect your time. I'd start looking elsewhere if I were you.
