TI Project Prioritization Shifts - Anyone else seeing this?

Been at TI for a few years now, and lately, I've noticed a definite shift in how projects are being prioritized. Some initiatives that seemed like big deals a year or two ago have quietly been deprioritized or even shelved. At the same time, there's a lot of focus on core products and efficiency improvements. It feels like management is getting a bit more cautious, maybe anticipating some tougher times ahead or just reallocating resources where they see the most immediate return. I haven't heard any direct talk of layoffs, but this kind of strategic tightening can sometimes be a precursor. Just wondering if others in different departments or business units are experiencing similar changes in project focus or resource allocation. Is it just me, or is the 'vibe' changing a little?

I've definitely seen something similar. It feels like a general tightening of the belt across the board. The emphasis on core products makes sense from a business perspective, especially if there's uncertainty in the market. It's understandable, but it can be a bit disheartening if you were invested in some of the more forward-looking projects that are now on the back burner.

Yeah, that rings true for my team too. It seems like the days of speculative moonshots are fewer and farther between. Management is definitely steering the ship towards what's proven and profitable. While I appreciate the stability that brings, I do wonder if we're missing out on some potentially game-changing innovations by focusing so heavily on the immediate bottom line.
