Wondering if my team is safe... any engineers on here hearing whispers?

Hey all, been with TI for about 5 years now, mostly in analog design. Been seeing a lot of chatter on here about potential cuts, and while nothing's concrete, I'm starting to get that nagging feeling. My manager's been a bit cagey lately when asked about team direction and headcount. We lost a couple of junior folks a few months back, which we chalked up to normal attrition, but now it feels different. Anyone else in a similar IC design role or similar hardware teams hearing anything at all? Trying to gauge if it's just company-wide anxiety or if specific groups are being targeted. Just want to be prepared, you know? Any intel, even small stuff, would be appreciated. Feels like we're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Hang in there. It's tough when the rumor mill starts churning, especially when your manager is being less than transparent. I'm in a different division, but we've had some reorg whispers too. My advice? Keep your head down, focus on delivering excellent work, and document your accomplishments. Also, it never hurts to refresh that resume and keep an eye on the market, just in case. Better to be prepared than blindsided.

Honestly, I think you might be overthinking this. TI is a huge company, and there's always some level of chatter about headcount. Losing a couple of junior folks sounds like pretty standard turnover, especially in a competitive field like IC design. Unless you're seeing actual, direct communication about layoffs or hearing from multiple reliable sources, I'd try not to stress too much. Focus on your projects and what you can control.
