Is this the calm before the storm? Things feel SO quiet...

Been here about 4 years, worked on the ads infrastructure team. Lately, it's just... weirdly quiet. Usually, there's a constant hum of activity, updates, meetings, even with the recent changes. Now? My inbox is practically empty, calendars are cleared, and my manager has been cagey about future projects. We had that big all-hands last week, and it felt like they were walking on eggshells. No real substance, just vague platitudes about 'navigating the new landscape.' It's making me incredibly uneasy. Anyone else on other teams feeling this vibe? Like everyone's just waiting for the other shoe to drop but no one wants to say it out loud? It's worse than the rumors sometimes, this eerie silence.

Yeah, I've noticed a similar vibe, and I'm not even internal. The overall chatter seems down, fewer trending topics, less engagement from the accounts I follow. It's like the platform is holding its breath. Could be seasonal, or maybe people are just tired of the constant drama and looking elsewhere. Personally, I'm still using it, but cautiously. It's hard to invest energy when the foundation feels shaky.

My cousin used to work in media relations there, and she said this kind of pre-layoff quiet is pretty standard in big tech when things are uncertain. They scale back projects, freeze hiring, and then you get the 'reorg.' The 'walking on eggshells' part is a huge red flag. Start polishing that resume and looking at other opportunities. Better to be prepared than caught off guard when the storm hits.
