Is X quietly purging older employees?

Came across an article about an age discrimination lawsuit against X. It got me thinking about what I've been seeing. Lots of younger faces joining, and it feels like some of the more senior engineers and long-term folks are suddenly 'moving on' or being put onPIP-like paths. It's subtle, not like the big bangs we saw before, but it's definitely a pattern. Management keeps talking about 'optimizing talent' and 'future-proofing,' but it feels like code for getting rid of anyone who might be more expensive or less 'adaptable.' Anyone else noticing this trend or feeling like their tenure is becoming a liability? Curious if this is a company-wide strategy or just isolated incidents.

That's a concerning observation. The 'optimization' and 'future-proofing' buzzwords can certainly mask less savory intentions. It's tough to see experienced people pushed out, especially if it's not transparent. The lack of overt layoffs doesn't make it any less impactful for those affected. Hope there's some clarity or recourse for those who feel unfairly targeted.

I've heard similar whispers. The shift in company culture and demographics can be stark. While bringing in fresh perspectives is often good, it shouldn't come at the expense of those who built the foundation. Age discrimination is a serious issue, and subtle tactics can be just as damaging as overt ones. Curious to see if this pattern continues or if any official statements address it.
