Well, it finally happened. Just got the email, then the calendar invite from HR. Less than an hour later, I'm locked out of everything. Three freaking years down the drain. I was a senior engineer on the infrastructure team. I poured my heart and soul into this place, especially dealing with the garbage code after the acquisition. And for what? A pat on the back and a severance package that won't last me more than a few months in the bay area. The job market is flooded right now! Anyone have any insider tips on which companies are actually hiring and not just posturing? Or any tips on getting my resume past the automated filters when applying? I'm panicking, I need a plan and quick!

That sucks, man. I know the feeling. Got the axe from a startup last year. Burnout is real, especially after acquisitions. First, take a breath. Then, hit up your network hard. LinkedIn, old colleagues, recruiters - the works. File for unemployment ASAP. Don't be afraid to reach out for help, even if it's just someone to vent to. The market IS tough, but infrastructure experience is still valuable. Good luck!

Three years and you didn't see this coming? C'mon, everyone knew Musk was going to gut the place. Senior engineer, Bay Area - you should have enough saved to last longer than a few months. Anyway, take this as a wake-up call. Diversify your skills, maybe look into something other than big tech. The world is bigger than Twitter, or whatever it's calling itself this week.
