Thoughts on the class-action age discrimination suit?

With the news about the age discrimination case getting class-action status, I’m curious if anyone here is actually part of it or planning to join. It feels like the company is trying to just bleed everyone out slowly with these tiny, rolling layoffs to avoid big public headlines. My theory is they are specifically targeting the legacy employees who have been around since before the acquisition to cut costs and silence the old guard. If you were part of the initial waves or even these new smaller ones, is it worth the headache to pursue legal action, or is it just another way to get burnt out? The whole situation is just depressing to watch from the inside. I’ve been updating my resume every weekend for the past three months and the market is still brutal.

It is honestly refreshing to see someone finally fighting back. The strategy of using rolling layoffs to avoid notice has been an open secret for months, and it’s clearly meant to break morale while purging institutional knowledge. Those of us who were there long before the acquisition know exactly what the game plan is: remove anyone who remembers how things used to run. Hopefully, this lawsuit actually gets some discovery and exposes just how systemic this age bias has become. It’s about time there was some accountability.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the class-action suit accomplishing much. These companies have deep pockets and can drag this out in court for years until everyone involved just gives up or moves on. While I agree that the recent shifts feel targeted, proving age discrimination in a tech environment is notoriously difficult because they hide behind performance metrics and 'restructuring.' It’s a miserable situation for everyone affected, but I think most people are just trying to land new jobs and put the whole place in the rearview mirror instead of engaging in a years-long legal slog.
