Arkansas 86 layoffs - what's the strategy?

Just saw the news about another 86 folks let go in Arkansas. This is getting weird. First that massive 'potential' number from back in the spring (which thankfully didn't materialize fully, I think?), and now this. Anyone in Arkansas feel like they know what's going on? Is this targeted? Are they restructuring something specific? Feels like we're constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. My team hasn't been touched directly yet, but the anxiety is real. Trying to figure out if this is a sign of bigger things to come or just isolated incidents. Any insights would be appreciated.

Ugh, sorry to hear about your colleagues. It's unsettling when these things happen, especially when the reasoning isn't clear. We've seen similar whispers and smaller cuts in my area too, though nothing as substantial as the numbers being floated around. It really does create a cloud of uncertainty for everyone, even those not directly impacted. Hopefully, clarity comes soon for those affected and for the rest of us trying to understand the direction things are heading.
