Confirmed: My entire pod in Michigan got notice

Just adding another data point to the pile. I was part of the Michigan site group that got the notification this morning. Total shock, but looking back, the signs were there. We’ve had three 'cost-saving initiative' town halls in the last month where they kept talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'synergies.' It’s all corporate speak for getting rid of us. They told us our severance package details will be emailed by EOD, but we’ve already lost system access. Can’t even log into the portal to check my benefits. If anyone has advice on filing for unemployment or how long it takes for the severance to actually hit the bank account, let me know. Good luck to everyone still inside—keep your heads down and keep your resumes updated. Don't trust the 'we value your contributions' emails; they’re already looking at the next list of targets.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. That feeling of losing system access while you are still reeling from the news is just brutal. It is such a cold way to handle things, especially after those repetitive town halls filled with buzzwords. Take the time you need to process this and do not feel pressured to rush into anything today. When you are ready, make sure you document everything you can remember about your tenure and benefits before your access is completely wiped. Sending you strength during this transition.

Honestly, the writing was on the wall the moment they started preaching about 'synergies' and 'operational efficiency' every single week. It is a classic corporate playbook used to soften the blow right before the hammer drops. Everyone knows those town halls are just a distraction while HR prepares the paperwork. Since they already cut your system access, focus on getting your resume polished and reaching out to your network immediately. These companies rarely care about the people behind the headcount, so do not take it personally. You are better off moving toward a company that values your time.
