Heard whispers of restructuring in my dept - anyone else?

Okay, so I've been with Optum for almost 8 years now, and I've seen a few things, but this feels different. I'm a Senior Data Analyst in the risk adjustment area, and the vibes have been super weird lately. My manager has been in back-to-back meetings all week, and when I asked about a project deadline, she was totally vague and just said "we'll see." Usually, she's all over the details. Anyone else experiencing weirdness in their department? Trying to figure out if I should be updating my resume or if I'm just paranoid. I'm vested in my 401k but the job market seems rough right now.

Definitely update that resume! Vague answers and closed-door meetings are never a good sign, especially after this many years. Happened to me at Cigna years ago - got blindsided by a complete department shutdown. Better to be prepared than scrambling. Good luck!

Take a breath. Restructuring is almost constant at UHG, it seems. Doesn't always mean layoffs. Could be a process change, a new reporting structure, or even just shuffling teams. I'd suggest networking internally and discreetly asking around *other* teams before you jump to conclusions. Information is power!
