Rant: Absolutely done with this company!

Seriously, I'm so over this place. I've been busting my butt for the last 5 years, putting in crazy hours, and what do I get? Radio silence. My manager doesn't even acknowledge my accomplishments. Meanwhile, people who barely do anything get promoted left and right. And the bureaucracy is insane! It takes weeks to get anything approved. I saw on the layoff site (you know the one) that a few people got the axe recently. Honestly, at this point, I'm hoping I'm next. I'd gladly take a severance package and find a company that actually values its employees. This place is a soul-sucking black hole. Anyone else feel the same?

I feel your pain. It's incredibly demoralizing to feel unseen and unappreciated. I went through something similar at another large company. Start documenting EVERYTHING you do, every accomplishment, every extra hour. When review time comes, you'll have concrete evidence to present, and it's harder for them to ignore. Simultaneously, quietly start looking for other opportunities. It sounds like the environment is toxic, and sometimes the best solution is a fresh start.

Heard. Big companies are often like that. Promotions aren't always about merit, but who plays the game better. Layoffs are scary, but it's a reality. Don't sit around waiting for the axe, take control of your situation. Polish up your resume and start applying elsewhere. Even if you don't leave immediately, having options will ease the anxiety. Good luck to you, friend, and try not to let it get you down too much.
