Severance package - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, what's the standard severance package at UnitedHealth Group? I'm trying to get a feel for what I might be looking at if the rumors are true. I've heard everything from two weeks per year of service to a flat three months. Does it depend on your role or level? I'm a Director, so I'm assuming it's different than for lower-level employees. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I know it's a sensitive topic, but I'd rather be prepared than caught off guard. Any experiences (past or present) would be helpful.

It's definitely role and level-dependent. Directors usually get a better deal than entry-level folks. I've heard of packages ranging from 3-6 months for that level, *depending* on years of service and your specific department's policy. Do some digging internally; HR might have some vague guidelines posted somewhere on the intranet. Good luck; it's always better to be prepared.

Rumors are just that: rumors. Don't drive yourself crazy worrying about something that might not even happen. Focus on doing your job well; performance is often a factor in these decisions. If you're really concerned, update your resume and passively network. It's always good to have options, regardless of what UnitedHealth decides to do.
