Should I even bother applying internally?

With all this churn, I'm starting to think about looking elsewhere. But I know UNH does internal mobility. Has anyone successfully moved teams or departments *after* a layoff round like this? Or is it a black hole where you just get overlooked? I've been in my current role for 3 years and feel like I'm hitting a ceiling anyway, but the thought of competing with laid-off folks for internal roles is daunting. Any tips on how to navigate this? Should I reach out to recruiters directly?
