The shift in the scheduling software is the biggest red flag. We saw something similar right before the last major consolidation phase two years ago. Management stops communicating when they are finalizing severance packages and department headcounts behind closed doors. Don’t wait for an official email to update your resume; start networking with recruiters now. When the 1:1s stop, it’s usually because they’ve already been instructed not to discuss current projects or long-term growth with staff. Stay sharp and keep your personal files backed up off the company network.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Q3 is historically a high-pressure quarter for the supply chain, and it's normal for leadership to go into deep-focus mode when margins are tight. The software update is likely just a push for better efficiency metrics to appease shareholders before the end of the fiscal year. Every time things get quiet, people start spiraling about restructuring, but usually, it’s just the usual corporate grind and holiday season prep. Focus on your KPIs and don't let the office gossip distract you from getting your bonus.
