Feeling the pressure to do more with less

It’s getting ridiculous. We’ve had three people leave in my department over the last four months and leadership hasn't moved an inch on backfilling those roles. Instead, they just keep hitting us with 'productivity enhancements' and asking us to absorb the workload. It feels like they’re doing a soft layoff by attrition—if they make the environment stressful enough, people quit, and they don't have to pay severance. I’m honestly exhausted. Every time I log in, there’s another email about 'streamlining operations.' We all know what that actually means. I’ve been looking at the postings on the careers page and nothing in my sector is opening up, which makes me think they’ve got a blanket hiring freeze in place despite what they’re telling us in the town halls. If they pull the trigger on a real layoff, I wouldn't even be surprised at this point; I’d probably be relieved to finally get a package and move on. Is anyone else feeling like they're doing two jobs for the price of one right now? I’m hitting the wall.

Anyone else hearing whispers about Q3 restructuring?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office been noticeably weirder lately? I’ve been with US Foods for a few years now, and the silence from leadership regarding the Q3 targets feels heavier than usual. I checked the WARN notice databases today just to see if anything had hit the wire in the major hubs, but nothing yet. Still, my manager has been canceling our 1:1s all week, and the scheduling software for our teams just got a massive update that looks like it’s designed to track utilization rates more aggressively. I’m starting to wonder if they’re prepping for a headcount reduction before the end of the fiscal year. Has anyone else heard anything concrete about budget freezes or 'efficiency initiatives'? I don’t want to jump the gun and polish my resume if it’s just business as usual, but the lack of transparency is starting to give me major anxiety. Seems like every time we hit a snag in the supply chain metrics, the rumors start flying about potential 'restructuring.' If you’re in corporate or one of the major distribution centers and hearing chatter, please drop a line. Even if it’s just 'everything is fine,' it would be nice to know I’m not just reading too much into the silence.
