Verizon's Constant Restructuring - What's the End Game?

Between the recent news of layoffs and all the talk over the years about retraining versus cuts, I'm starting to wonder what the long-term plan is at Verizon. It feels like every few months there's some kind of shake-up. Are they really committed to investing in their current workforce, or is this just a way to manage public perception while they streamline? I've been here a while, and the job security just doesn't feel the same. Curious to hear from others who have been through multiple rounds of these 'reorganizations' – does it ever feel like things stabilize, or is this the new normal?

I've been with Verizon for a decade now and seen a few of these 'restructuring' phases. It's definitely unsettling. While they talk about adapting to the future, it often feels like the people who actually keep the network running are left out of the loop. The constant churn makes it hard to plan for the future here, and the anxiety is real. Hoping for some stability soon.

Yeah, the 'adapting' narrative sounds good on paper, but when it translates to layoffs and a feeling of uncertainty for long-term employees, it's tough to swallow. It feels like a cycle: announce changes, have layoffs, then talk about 're-skilling' which never seems to fully materialize for everyone. I'm starting to think they're prioritizing shareholder value over employee loyalty, which is a shame.
