Where is Verizon heading with these cuts?

Another layoff, this time 54 in Washington. It’s getting hard to ignore the pattern. We hear about retraining initiatives, but then we see these cuts. Are they trimming fat, or is this a fundamental shift in strategy? I've been with the company for a while and it never felt this unstable. It makes you wonder about job security, even in seemingly stable departments. People are talking about it, but no one really knows the full picture. Feels like management is either not communicating effectively or doesn't have a clear long-term plan. Just trying to keep my head down, but it's tough.

It's definitely concerning to see these recurring reports of layoffs. The disconnect between announced retraining programs and actual job cuts is hard to reconcile. Many long-term employees are feeling the uncertainty, and it's understandable given the pattern. The lack of clear communication from management only amplifies the anxiety. Hoping for more transparency soon.

I agree, the instability feels palpable lately. It's not just one department; it seems to be spreading. While companies do restructure, the scale and frequency of these cuts are raising serious questions about Verizon's long-term direction and how they value their workforce. Job security feels less certain than it used to.
