August 10th headcount reduction: Did anyone get an invite for a 1:1?

It’s been a rough 24 hours since the news broke. I’ve been hearing mixed reports from different departments about the scope of the August 10th cuts. My manager went dark yesterday morning and hasn’t responded to any Slack messages, which is making me incredibly anxious. Are people in Product and Engineering actually getting the calendar invites today, or is this rolling out over the next 48 hours? I’ve seen a few people log off permanently on the directory, but it’s hard to tell if that’s just a timezone thing or if the axe has already fallen. If you’re a survivor or know someone who got the notification, could you share if they gave you any transition timeline? Trying to figure out if I need to start offloading my Jira tickets or if I have a bit more breathing room to get my documentation in order before the access gets cut.

I’m in Engineering and can confirm that invites started hitting calendars around 9:00 AM. It’s a total mess right now. If you haven't received anything yet, don't assume you're in the clear just yet, as the notifications seem to be coming in waves throughout the day. My team is completely rattled, and honestly, the lack of clear communication from leadership is making a bad situation significantly worse. Just keep an eye on your inbox and stay prepared for the worst.

Deep breaths. I know it’s impossible not to panic when the manager goes silent, but obsessing over the directory status is only going to drive you crazy. I checked with a few folks in Product, and it seems like the process is definitely staggered. Some people were notified early this morning, but others are still waiting on official meetings. Just try to stay away from the screen for a bit if you can; the waiting game is the hardest part, but you'll know one way or the other by tomorrow.
