I've been through a layoff before (not at Visa), and the best advice I can give is to start preparing *now*. Update your resume, reach out to your network, and start quietly looking at job postings. Even if layoffs don't happen, it's never a bad idea to be ready. As for severance, it really varies. Keep an eye on internal communications - sometimes companies will hint at things.
Honestly, I wouldn't expect anything too generous. Visa's profitable, but they're also a business. Maybe a month's salary plus two weeks per year of service? Don't count on great outplacement services either; those are usually bare-bones. Best bet is to be proactive and not rely on them for anything. Start networking and see if you can line up some internal opportunities first, if you're worried.
