Is anyone else's team scope completely changing?

Been at Visa for about 3 years now, mostly on the backend engineering side for a payments processing team. Lately, it feels like my manager and skip-level have been having tons of meetings, and the project roadmap has been in constant flux. New initiatives are being thrown around daily, and things that were priorities last month are seemingly dropped. I haven't heard any direct layoff talk within my immediate circle, but the level of uncertainty and shifting priorities is making me really uneasy. It feels like a lot of reorg prep or maybe something bigger is brewing. Anyone else on the platform engineering side seeing similar shifts or have any intel on what's going on? Trying to figure out if this is a company-wide thing or just my specific department.

I feel you on this. I'm in a different department, but the same vibe has been creeping in for months. Lots of 'strategic realignment' meetings, vague pronouncements about the future, and then suddenly everything pivots. It's tough to stay motivated when you don't know what you'll be working on next week, let alone next quarter. I've started documenting everything I do and making sure my resume is updated, just in case. Hang in there, and try to focus on what you *can* control.

Honestly, this sounds like standard corporate churn to me, especially in a company as large as Visa. They're probably trying to adapt to market changes or competitive pressures. While it's definitely unsettling, try not to read too much into it. Unless you're hearing direct talk of layoffs, it's more likely just a period of strategic adjustment. Maybe ask your manager for a clearer picture of the long-term vision for your team's area, even if the immediate roadmap is fluid.
