The uncertainty is honestly the worst part of all this. From what I’ve gathered talking to people in other departments, the process seems to be moving in rolling waves rather than a single event. It feels like they are methodically clearing out different business units day by day to avoid a massive spike in activity at once. If your team is already going dark and leads are suddenly offline, it’s unfortunately a signal that the reach is broader than just one calendar day. Try to step away from your inbox for an hour; the anxiety won't change the outcome, and this level of hyper-vigilance is just going to burn you out completely.
I’m in the same boat as you, just sitting here waiting for the other shoe to drop. At this point, the lack of official communication is a deliberate tactic to keep everyone guessing. Don’t bank on the August 10th date being the final cutoff. Based on how previous rounds went, they tend to drag this out over the course of a week to maintain control and minimize workplace chatter. I’ve stopped checking my email every few minutes because the stress was becoming physically unbearable. If you're still active, use this time to update your resume and start pinging your network quietly. Expect more silence until the leadership decides they’ve hit their target numbers.
