Anyone else getting weird vibes from leadership lately?

Is it just me, or does the messaging coming down from the top feel incredibly ominous lately? We keep hearing about 'operational efficiency' and 'realigning resources' every single quarter, but it feels like the walls are closing in. I’ve been with WBA for over five years, and the store morale is at an all-time low. I’m starting to see more managers spending hours behind closed office doors, and the rumor mill at my district is spinning out of control. It feels like they are prepping for a massive structural shift, but they won't just rip the bandage off. Everyone is terrified that the next town hall is going to be the one where they announce a headcount reduction. Has anyone heard anything concrete, or are we all just collectively spiraling until the next earnings call? I’m starting to update my resume just in case, but I honestly have no idea if I should be worried about my specific branch or if it’s just the corporate side that’s on the chopping block.

I've been hearing the exact same thing in my district. That 'operational efficiency' buzzword is corporate speak for 'expect more layoffs soon.' It’s the same pattern every time—they isolate themselves, cut hours until the store barely functions, and then act surprised when productivity tanks. I’ve stopped looking for long-term growth here and started refreshing my resume. If your gut is telling you something is off, trust it. This company has lost its way, and the people on the floor are the ones paying the price for the bad decisions made upstairs.
