Totally get it. I'm in tech, and we've been feeling the same pressure. When managers are cagey like that, it's rarely a good sign. Start networking internally and externally NOW. Look for roles that might be insulated from cuts – maybe in a growing department? Good luck, hope it all works out!
Honestly, this feels like the same anxiety that crops up every few quarters at Wayfair. Remember that big hiring push they did last year? Recessions happen. It's cyclical. Prepare your resume if it makes you feel better, but don't let the rumors paralyze you. Focus on your KPIs. If you're a valuable asset, you're less likely to be impacted. Just my two cents.
