Considering my options - what's the market like for Wayfair tech folks?

Given the recent rumors and the general economic climate, I'm starting to proactively think about my next move, just in case. Even though nothing concrete has been announced, the chatter about past layoffs and the focus on 'efficiency' makes me nervous about long-term stability here. For those who have been looking or interviewing, how is the market for our skill sets right now? Are companies actively hiring, or is it a tough market? Any advice on companies that are still growing and investing in their teams would be greatly appreciated. Trying to stay informed and prepared for whatever might come next.

It's definitely a smart move to be thinking ahead, especially with the economic winds shifting. While Wayfair has its ups and downs, the tech market in general feels a bit tighter than it was a year or two ago. Companies are being more selective, and there's a greater emphasis on candidates with very specific, in-demand skills. It's not impossible to find opportunities, but you might need to be more strategic about your search and really highlight your unique value proposition. Networking is probably more important than ever right now.

I hear you on the nervousness. The tech sector has seen a lot of consolidation and belt-tightening recently, and that sentiment definitely trickles down. From what I've seen and heard from peers, it's a mixed bag out there. Some companies are still hiring aggressively, particularly in areas like AI, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure, but others are definitely pausing or slowing down. It's worth exploring roles in companies that have strong funding rounds or are in rapidly growing industries. Don't discount smaller, agile startups if they align with your career goals.
