Just saw the WARN notice for the WDM site. Another 10 people gone as of late November. It feels like death by a thousand cuts at this point. I know 10 doesn't sound like a massive number compared to the bloodbaths of previous years, but it’s the constant drip-feed that’s killing morale. Every time a new notice drops, everyone in my department stops working for two hours just to check if their badge still works or if there's a meeting invite waiting in their inbox from HR. Is this really the strategy now? Just offloading a dozen people every few months to keep the stock price steady while the workload stays the same for those of us left behind? If anyone in the home lending unit has heard anything about further reductions, please speak up. I’m tired of playing the guessing game every time a government filing pops up.

The constant drip-feed of layoffs is definitely a deliberate strategy to keep everyone off balance. When you lose ten people every few weeks, the atmosphere becomes toxic and paranoid rather than productive. It’s impossible to focus on long-term projects when you’re constantly checking your email for a sudden 'sync' invite from HR. They know exactly what they’re doing by spreading the cuts out like this instead of doing it all at once. It’s exhausting watching the office slowly empty out, and it’s clearly intentional to break our collective spirit.

Honestly, I’ve stopped worrying about the WARN notices. At this point, if they’re going to cut me, they’ll cut me. I’ve started treating this place like a temp agency where I just collect the paycheck until the inevitable happens. The morale was dead years ago, so why let it ruin my mental health now? Just keep your resume updated, do the bare minimum to stay under the radar, and spend those two hours of panic updating your LinkedIn instead of worrying about a badge that might stop working tomorrow.
