I feel you. The constant uncertainty is the worst part. It's hard to be productive when you're spending half your time wondering if you'll *have* a job next month. I started documenting everything I do, just in case. Sounds paranoid, but it makes me feel a little more in control. Good luck, hope things turn around for you (and all of us).
Seriously. Every big company is like this now. They dangle the threat of layoffs to squeeze more out of everyone. I jumped ship last year after the last "restructuring" and haven't regretted it. Sure, there's risk everywhere, but at least I'm not constantly on edge. Start looking around; even just seeing what's out there can give you some peace of mind and maybe a backup plan.
