WF moving roles overseas after layoffs? Feels wrong.

Read a few things about Wells Fargo shifting jobs overseas after recent layoffs. This is pure speculation on my part, but it feels like a kick in the teeth if it's true. We're losing people here, and then they're just going to send that work to another country? Doesn't sit right with me, especially if it's for cheaper labor. Is this a common strategy these days, or just another bad move by leadership? Anyone with experience seeing this happen elsewhere in the bank, or even in this specific instance? Seems like a tough pill to swallow for those who are still here and worried about their own jobs, or for those who just got the axe.

I've seen this happen at other large corporations, unfortunately. Layoffs happen, and then companies look for ways to cut costs further, which often means offshoring. It's a tough reality for employees, especially those who've dedicated years to the company. While it's understandable from a business perspective to seek efficiencies, the optics and the impact on morale are significant. It makes you wonder about loyalty and long-term commitment from the company's side.
