Checking in to see if any of my peers who were caught in the 11/30 WARN notice have received their actual separation packages yet. I got the notification yesterday, and it feels surreal. 142 of us out the door right before the holidays, while the C-suite is still pulling in massive compensation packages. It’s a bitter pill to swallow after putting in so many hours to keep the product stable over the last few quarters. I’m curious if the severance is standard or if there’s been any room for negotiation regarding the equity vesting schedules. The communication from HR has been incredibly cold, mostly just pointing us toward the portal and generic outplacement services that honestly feel like a checkbox exercise. If anyone has tips on how they’re handling the transition or if anyone is successfully fighting for better terms, please share. I’m trying to stay professional, but the resentment is real. Stay strong to everyone else impacted—we didn't deserve this, but we'll find something better.

I am so sorry to hear you were affected by this. It’s absolutely gut-wrenching to be let go right before the holidays while leadership continues to prioritize their own bonuses. Regarding the severance, most of the standard packages are non-negotiable in these mass layoffs, but it never hurts to have an employment attorney look over the release agreement before you sign anything. Focus on getting your documentation in order and taking care of yourself right now; don't rush into signing away your rights just to get the payout a few days earlier.
