Anyone else sensing a weird vibe lately?

I've been at Workday for 7 years now, in the product design org. Usually things are pretty chill, but the last few weeks, something feels off. Lots of closed-door meetings, VPs are way more serious than usual, and my manager is suddenly asking for weekly status updates on stuff that used to be just 'FYI' level. Anyone else feeling this? I'm not trying to start a panic, but I've been through layoffs before, and this feels eerily similar. Specifically, I'm on the Adaptive Planning product team, and we've been hearing some rumblings about 'streamlining.' Makes me nervous. Just looking to see if others are picking up on anything similar. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I'm on the HCM side and haven't noticed anything drastically different, but that doesn't mean it's not happening in Adaptive Planning. Honestly, those weekly status updates from your manager are a big red flag. I'd suggest discreetly networking with folks you trust in other departments to see if they're hearing anything. Better to be prepared than blindsided. Dust off that resume just in case!

You're probably just overthinking things. End of quarter/year is always a bit more intense. VPs are stressed about hitting targets, and that trickles down. Seven years is a long time; maybe you're just getting bored and projecting? I'd give it a couple more weeks before jumping to conclusions. Closed-door meetings happen all the time. Don't let it psych you out. Focus on your work and try to ignore the noise.
