Workday: Headcount Freeze or Hiring Slowdown? Anyone else seeing this?

Hey all, been seeing some chatter internally and noticing fewer new reqs popping up. Recruiters seem a bit more hesitant to answer direct questions about headcount. On the surface, no official announcements, but it feels like a quiet freeze or at least a significant slowdown is happening. We just finished our performance reviews, and while the company is talking about 'investment' and 'growth,' the budget conversations feel tighter than usual. Anyone in other orgs seeing similar trends? Curious if this is company-wide or specific to certain divisions. Trying to gauge the general sentiment and if this is a sign of things to come or just a normal Q4/Q1 lull before a big push next year. Feels a bit like the calm before a storm, if I'm being honest. Let's discuss.

Yeah, I've been feeling that too. It's definitely strange, especially after performance reviews when you'd expect things to open up. We haven't had any official word, but the vibe is definitely different. Recruiters are cagey, and the usual pace of job postings has slowed to a crawl. It makes you wonder what the real strategy is behind all the talk of 'investment.' Hopefully, it's just a temporary dip and not a sign of bigger issues down the line.

Interesting you bring this up. My team has noticed a similar pattern. We've been trying to backfill a couple of key roles for months with very little traction, and the budget requests for new hires are getting a lot more scrutiny. It's hard to reconcile the public statements about growth with the internal hiring freeze whispers. It creates a lot of uncertainty and can be demoralizing when people are looking to grow their careers here.
