Workday severance packages - what's the general consensus?

Been seeing some posts about layoffs in tech generally, and it got me thinking about Workday specifically. While there haven't been any *official* announcements (that I've seen anyway), the rumors persist. For those who have been through layoffs at Workday in the past, or know someone who has, what was the general feel about the severance packages? Were they considered fair, competitive, or on the lower end compared to other tech companies? I'm not looking to profit, just understand what a potential situation might look like, and if it's something the company generally handles with some decency or if it's a bare minimum situation. Any info, even anecdotal, would be helpful.

From what I've seen and heard, Workday's severance packages have generally been viewed as pretty decent. They tend to align with industry standards, offering a few weeks of pay per year of service, plus benefits continuation for a period. It's not always the absolute top-tier like you might see at some FAANG companies during their peak, but it's usually considered fair and a reasonable cushion while people look for their next opportunity. Definitely better than some smaller companies I've encountered.

Honestly, opinions on Workday severance can be a bit mixed, and it probably depends on the specific circumstances and when the layoff occurred. In the past, some felt they were competitive, especially with the additional support like outplacement services. Others have felt they could have been more generous, particularly for long-term employees. It's a tough situation for anyone, and 'fair' can be subjective when you're talking about losing your job. Always best to check your individual offer carefully.
