Another Round at Zillow - What's Going On?

Just saw the news about Zillow letting go of another chunk of people. This is getting ridiculous. Feels like every other week there's a new round of cuts. I've got friends who work there, and they're all on edge. One day it's "restructuring," the next it's "strategic realignment." Honestly, it just sounds like they're mismanaging things badly. They had that whole iBuying disaster a while back, and it seems like they haven't fully recovered or learned their lesson. The constant layoffs make it hard for anyone to feel secure, and it's definitely impacting morale. Anyone else hearing more details or have a different perspective on why this keeps happening?

It's concerning to hear about the ongoing layoffs at Zillow. The real estate market is always dynamic, but consistent workforce reductions suggest deeper issues beyond just market fluctuations. Their previous foray into iBuying was a significant misstep, and it's hard not to see these cuts as a lingering consequence. One hopes they can find a more stable path forward for their employees and the company's future.

Yeah, the Zillow situation is definitely a mixed bag. While the layoffs are tough for those involved, it also signals a potential shift in their business model. Maybe they're refocusing on their core strengths like the listing platform and advertising, rather than trying to be everything to everyone. It'll be interesting to see if this leaner approach leads to better long-term performance or if it's just more short-term pain.
