Anyone getting scouted for roles post-layoffs elsewhere?

It's wild how many recruiters are reaching out lately, even though Zillow hasn't had a *major* public layoff event like some other tech companies. I'm not in one of the teams rumored to be cut, but the atmosphere is still tense. I've had a few recruiters from other proptech/REI companies reach out with seemingly solid opportunities. One in particular seemed really interested in my experience with large-scale data pipelines here. Is anyone else getting these calls? Are these companies actively poaching from Zillow, or is it just the usual market churn? Wondering if now's the time to actually entertain those offers or if it's better to wait and see what happens here.

Thinking about my next move, need advice

Been at Z for about 4 years now, mostly in the engineering side (backend). Things feel so unstable lately, and honestly, I'm starting to look around. The constant rumors and lack of clear communication are really getting to me. Has anyone else in a similar role started interviewing elsewhere? How's the market looking for Zillow refugees? Any tips for navigating interviews when you're coming from a company that feels like it's in flux? I want to be prepared. My current role is okay, but the anxiety is starting to outweigh the positives. Any advice or shared experiences would be super helpful.

Rant: Sick of the uncertainty

Honestly, I'm just so over this constant low-level anxiety about potential layoffs. I bust my butt every day, exceeding expectations in my engineering role. But it feels like it's never enough. The housing market is volatile, interest rates are crazy, and the company seems to be constantly restructuring. How am I supposed to focus on building great products when I'm constantly worried about losing my job? It's exhausting. I wish management would just be transparent about the company's plans instead of leaving us all in the dark. I'm seriously considering jumping ship even though I like my team. The stress just isn't worth it anymore.

Severance package Q: Negotiating or standard?

Hypothetical question... if Zillow were to do layoffs (again), is there ANY wiggle room with the severance package they offer? Or is it pretty much a take-it-or-leave-it situation? I'm trying to get a sense of whether it's worth even attempting to negotiate things like healthcare continuation or outplacement services. Has anyone successfully negotiated a better package in the past? Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Want to be prepared *just in case*.

Hearing whispers...are more Zillow layoffs coming?

Anyone else feeling uneasy? I'm in the data science org, been here for 3 years, and the vibe has been weird lately. Lots of closed-door meetings, VPs seem stressed, and my manager is suddenly super interested in what projects I'm working on and their 'impact'. It reminds me a little too much of the pre-layoff atmosphere I experienced at my last company. Maybe it's just my anxiety, but has anyone else noticed anything similar? Or am I just being paranoid? Hoping to crowdsource some sanity here before I start polishing up my resume...

Zillow is a sinking ship & leadership is clueless! (Rant)

I'm so over it. I've been busting my ass for this company for three years, and what do I get? Constant pressure, unrealistic deadlines, and a feeling that my work is completely undervalued. The leadership is completely out of touch with what's actually happening on the ground. They keep pushing these half-baked initiatives that make no sense, and then act surprised when they fail. I swear, every other week there's a new 'urgent' fire drill that's just a result of their poor planning. The stock is tanking, morale is in the toilet, and I'm pretty sure layoffs are coming. I'm updating my LinkedIn profile tonight. Honestly, good riddance. I'm ready to find a company that actually values its employees.

Heard anything about roles being offshored?

So, I'm in engineering, and I overheard my manager talking to someone (sounded like HR) about 'redundancies' and 'restructuring' within the team. Then, I saw a job posting for a similar role in Bangalore, India. Has anyone else heard anything about Zillow moving some roles overseas? I'm not sure how to feel about this. I understand the business reasons, but it doesn't make it any less stressful for those of us who might be affected. Any insight would be appreciated. I'm trying to figure out if I should start preparing myself.

Anyone else feeling nervous? Q1 numbers coming...

I'm in product, been at Zillow for 5 years now, and I can't shake this feeling. Q1 numbers are about to drop and the overall vibe has been…off. Lots of closed-door meetings, weird silences in the hallways (virtual hallways, I guess, since we're mostly remote), and a general sense of anxiety. I remember this feeling before the last re-org, and it's giving me major flashbacks. Anyone else feeling the same way? Am I just being paranoid, or is something brewing? I really don't want to dust off my resume again...
