From what I've heard, Zillow's severance is pretty standardized. It's probably worth asking about outplacement services, as those don't cost them much directly, but I wouldn't expect to get much traction on the monetary part. Document everything, consult an employment lawyer if the package seems way off, but temper expectations. The bigger the company, the less likely they are to deviate from the norm.
Honestly, negotiating severance rarely works, especially at larger corporations. They've calculated the risk and potential savings already. Focus on what you *can* control – updating your resume, networking, and mentally preparing for the possibility. Don't waste your energy tilting at windmills when you should be focusing on your next move. A good offence (finding a new job) beats a slightly better defence (severance) any day.
