To those affected today: so sorry you're going through this. I wanted to start a thread so we can track what the current severance terms look like compared to the last few rounds. I received my packet about an hour ago. It seems like the standard is roughly [X] weeks of base pay, plus some COBRA assistance, but the equity vesting schedule is what’s stinging the most. If you’re comfortable sharing, what have you seen in your documents? I’m trying to figure out if there’s any room for negotiation regarding the RSUs that were supposed to vest next quarter. I don’t have high hopes given the current climate, but it’s worth comparing notes. Please keep your personal identifiers out of this, but it would be helpful to know if the packages are consistent across departments or if some roles are getting different terms. Good luck to everyone navigating this mess.

It is incredibly frustrating to see the equity vesting terms tightened up compared to previous rounds. I am in the same boat, and it feels like a slap in the face after putting in so much hard work. Based on what I have seen in other similar corporate packages, negotiation is rarely successful unless you have significant leverage, but it never hurts to consult an employment attorney before signing anything. Don't rush into it; take your time to review the fine print and see if there is any wiggle room at all regarding your RSUs.

Hang in there. I am still waiting on my packet, but the rumors about the equity cliff have me worried sick. It really feels like they are cutting corners at our expense while the leadership stays protected. I would recommend reaching out to your former teammates to see if anyone has had success pushing back on the separation agreement. Usually, these packets are non-negotiable boilerplate, but if you have specific circumstances or tenure, it might be worth a polite inquiry. Prioritize getting your documents in order and checking your vesting dates before you make any decisions.
