Another round at Zillow - what's the long-term outlook?

Just saw the news about Zillow letting go of another 500 people. This feels like deja vu. I'm not directly affected this time, but it's hard not to worry about the stability here. Feels like every few months there's a new round of cuts. What does this mean for the company's direction? Are they pivoting hard away from something, or is this just ongoing cost-cutting? I've been here a few years and the vibe has definitely shifted. Used to feel like we were on solid ground, now it's constant uncertainty. Anyone else feeling this? Curious to hear from people who might be in the know about the underlying reasons for these persistent layoffs.

It's definitely concerning to see repeated layoffs. The constant restructuring makes it hard to feel secure. I wonder if they're struggling to find a sustainable business model after the iBuying experiment, or if it's broader market headwinds impacting their strategy. The shift in company culture is palpable, moving from optimism to what feels like a perpetual state of crisis management. Hopefully, they can stabilize soon.

The repeated rounds of cuts suggest a significant strategic reassessment is underway. It's possible Zillow is trimming areas that aren't performing as expected to focus resources on core strengths or new ventures. The market is volatile, and real estate tech is certainly feeling the pressure. It's a tough environment, and companies are having to adapt or risk falling behind. Fingers crossed for clarity and a more stable path forward.
