Just had the WORST performance review of my life. Feeling like I'm being managed out.

Okay, I need to vent. I've been at Zoom for 2 years, in a sales role. Up until now, my reviews have been pretty good. Met expectations, exceeded in some areas, the usual. But today? My manager basically told me I'm not performing well enough, my numbers are down (which, okay, fair, the market is tough!), and that I need to "drastically improve" in the next quarter. It felt completely out of the blue. I'm freaking out. It felt very scripted. Is this their way of building a case to let me go without a package? Anyone else experience a sudden, negative shift in their performance reviews? I feel like they're trying to get me to quit so they don't have to pay me out. Absolute garbage.

Ugh, that sounds awful! Performance reviews should never blindside you like that. It's possible they're trying to PIP you, but don't assume the worst just yet. Start documenting *everything* you do: sales calls, meetings, any extra effort. That way, if they *are* trying to build a case, you have your own evidence to counter it. Also, reach out to any colleagues who might be willing to vouch for you. Good luck, you've got this!

Two years at Zoom, eh? Yeah, I've heard whispers that they're tightening the screws now that the pandemic boom is over. "Drastically improve" sounds like corporate-speak for "we're looking for a reason to fire you." Honestly, I'd start polishing your resume *now*. Update your LinkedIn, reach out to your network, and see what else is out there. It's always better to be proactive than to be caught off guard. Even if things turn around, having options never hurts.
