Severance package details – what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Zoom were to do layoffs, does anyone know what the typical severance package looks like? I've heard different things from different people. Is it based on tenure? Does it include continued health insurance? I'm trying to get a sense of what I might be looking at if I were impacted. Any insights would be super helpful. I'm in Marketing, and honestly, things have been quiet on our end recently.

Hey, I went through a layoff at a different tech company last year. Severance was definitely tied to tenure - I got two weeks for every year I was there, plus they paid out accrued PTO. Health insurance was extended for a couple of months, but it was COBRA, so I had to pay the premiums. I'd try to network internally, maybe discreetly talk to people who've left recently - they might have some firsthand knowledge to share. Good luck!

Honestly, don't count your chickens before they hatch. 'Quiet' in marketing can mean a lot of things, not necessarily layoffs. Focus on making yourself indispensable - highlight your recent wins, offer to take on extra projects, and generally be a team player. Even if layoffs do happen, you'll be in a stronger position. Start polishing up your resume and LinkedIn profile, just in case, but don't get too stressed about hypotheticals.
