Feeling the pressure to jump ship

Honestly, the uncertainty is killing me. I love the scale of the projects here, but the lack of transparency from leadership is becoming a major red flag. Every time I ask about the long-term outlook for our division, I get the standard 'we are evaluating our strategic needs' line. It’s been weeks of this non-answer. I’ve started updating my LinkedIn and reaching out to a few headhunters just to see what else is out there in the EPC space. Even if there isn't a massive layoff coming, the way they’re managing expectations makes me feel like a line item rather than a person. If you're a tenured employee, do you feel like things are slipping, or am I just being paranoid? I just don’t want to be the last person holding the bag if things start to go south.

Anyone hearing rumors about Q3 staffing adjustments?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office been weird lately? I’ve noticed a lot more closed-door meetings in the project management suites, and we haven't seen a new major award announcement in a while. I’ve been with Bechtel for a few years now, and usually, when things get this quiet, it’s the precursor to some kind of 'workforce optimization' or restructuring announcement. My lead isn't saying much, but they’ve been looking pretty stressed during our weekly syncs. I’ve heard whispers about the current project portfolio thinning out, and I'm worried we might be looking at a bench situation soon. Has anyone else heard anything regarding potential headcount reductions for the upcoming quarter? I’d hate to be caught off guard if they decide to trim the fat before the end of the fiscal year.
